Since its establishment in 2011, Renewable Energy Institute has been promoting “Asia Super Grid (ASG)” to utilize and exchange the vast renewable energy resources in Asian countries. The Institute hosted an international conference “Asia Super Grid ― from concept to reality for North East Asia” on 30 October 2017 in Seoul, Korea.
South Korea has announced a major paradigm shift in energy policy to renewables, and President Moon Jae-in has proposed the countries to begin discussions to establish “Northeast Asia Super Grid.” More than ever, there are increased needs for internconnectors in Asian countries. We invited experts and stakeholders and provided an opportunity to discuss and share benefits and challenges towards the development of ASG.
