European Electric Power Companies' New Business Models
Lessons for Japanese Electric Utilities 5 November 2015

November 5, 2015 - Japan Renewable Energy Foundation's new report "European Electric Power Companies’ New Business Models: Lessons for Japanese Electric Utilities."
The report aims at introducing readers on how the major European power companies are adapting their business model to survive a shift of paradigm, in Europe particularly, where electricity market reforms have been advanced faster and the use of renewable energy is far greater than in Japan.
The report comes in two versions; English (109 pages) and Japanese (9 pages).
While Japan is proceeding with its electricity system reform and renewables deployment is taking place in the country, what should Japan learn from the European power companies' experiences in the energy transition?
We hope that those who are engaged in the electricity business and the development of energy policies will find this report useful and informative.
